1. Remove the yerba mate from the gourd after each use. Avoid leaving it with yerba mate inside for a long period of time because it could get an unpleasant smell

2. Thoroughly rinse the squash in cold water. If the mate is lined in leather, avoid wetting it on the outside as it could spoil over time

3. Dry the inner walls of the pumpkin with absorbent paper towel

4. Leave the mate gourd face up in a ventilated place always. Avoid leaving it upside down on a flat surface as it could absorb moisture and favor the appearance of fungi
